Close to 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the state, producing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Locals reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled 598 calls for help across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

At one point on the previous day, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the area.
